Ice Maker Not Making Ice

• No water supply: Confirm the water reservoir is filled or the water supply valve is fully open.
• Ice bin full: Empty the ice basket or reposition ice so the full-bin sensor is not blocked.
• Room temperature too high: Move portable units away from heat sources and use cold water for faster ice production.
• Refrigerator ice maker disabled: Make sure the ice maker switch, arm, or control panel setting is turned on.

Small, Soft, or Cloudy Ice

• Warm water: Refill with cold water and allow the unit to complete several cycles.
• Mineral buildup: Run a cleaning cycle and descale the water system according to the model manual.
• Incorrect cube size: Select a larger ice size setting if available.
• Poor water quality: Use filtered water to improve taste, clarity, and ice consistency.

Ice Maker Leaking Water

• Overfilled reservoir: Do not fill above the maximum water line on countertop models.
• Loose drain plug: Check the drain cap, drain plug, and water outlet seal.
• Water line connection: Inspect refrigerator or built-in models for loose fittings, cracked tubing, or damaged inlet valves.
• Unit not level: Place the ice maker on a flat, stable surface to prevent overflow or drainage problems.

Noise, Pump, and Sensor Problems

• Loud operation: Some fan, compressor, and water pump sounds are normal during the ice-making cycle.
• Grinding or rattling: Check for ice jams, loose parts, or an uneven surface.
• Add Water light stays on: Clean the water sensor, refill the reservoir, and make sure water can reach the pump.
• Ice Full light stays on: Remove ice from the bin and clean the infrared or mechanical full-bin sensor area.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Bad taste or odor: Drain old water, clean the reservoir, and run several fresh water cycles before use.
• Slow ice production: Descale the unit, clean the condenser vents, and keep enough clearance around the machine.
• Storage preparation: Drain all water, dry the interior, and leave the lid or door open before long-term storage.
• Filter replacement: Replace refrigerator water filters on schedule to maintain water flow and ice quality.

Safety note: Always unplug portable or countertop ice makers before cleaning. For refrigerator or built-in ice makers, shut off power and water supply before service.
